Scientists did something amazing to help save a special kind of rhinoceros called the northern white rhino. There are only two left in the world, and they are both girls named Najin and Fatu, living in Kenya.

A group of researchers in Germany figured out a way to make one type of rhino, called a southern white rhino, have a baby for the first time using a special method called embryo transfer. They hoped this could be the solution to save the almost extinct northern white rhino.

Sadly, the southern white rhino, named Curra, didn’t get to have her baby because she got sick and passed away. But the good news is that the scientists learned that the method could work. They have frozen baby rhino embryos and hope to put them into another southern white rhino soon.

If everything goes well, in a few years, there might be more northern white rhinos, and it’s like a superhero mission to keep these amazing animals from disappearing forever. The scientists are working really hard, and it’s a big responsibility to make sure the rhinos are safe and happy.
