Owners of a “lonely” donkey have been overwhelmed with offers to find him a new friend for Valentine’s Day. Dot and Carl Smith are looking for a new companion for Harold the donkey after his best friend, a goat named Billy, passed away. They have received numerous responses to their appeal, which began with a postcard in a farm shop. The couple will be meeting three potential new friends for Harold – two pygmy goats and a nanny goat. If all goes well, Harold will have a new group of friends to keep him company.
Harold and Billy were inseparable, always staying close to each other. After Billy’s death, Harold started feeling lost and lonely. He still visits the shed where his best friend used to live. The Smiths hope that the new goats will be a good match for Harold and help him feel less lonely.
The Smiths are excited to meet the pygmy goats, who they believe are of the perfect age. They will also be speaking to the owner of the nanny goat to confirm her arrival. If everything works out, the Smiths will have three new additions to their family. They are confident that Harold will be thrilled with his new friends.
