Some birds at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in the UK were saying naughty words. The parks plan to fix it is to put the swearing birds together with other birds, and hopefully the’ll pick up other sounds and the swearing might fade away. But if the plan backfires, the reverse could happen and Lincolnshire Wildlife Park would have 100 cussing parrots.
The birds that were saying bad words are called African Grey parrots, and they are really smart. They can learn things like a 5-year-old human. The park has eight of these birds, and five of them became famous in 2020 for swearing at people. Even though they were separated, they still kept saying bad words.
Now, the park is trying a new plan to make them stop. They put the five famous birds with three other ones that also say bad words. The park hopes this will help them learn better words. The person in charge of the park says the plan is going okay, but the birds still say bad words and even laugh about it. They put signs in the park to warn visitors about the birds’ naughty language and ask them not to encourage it.
