A pilot is in hospital after his light aircraft crashed into the garden of a property in north Wales. The incident occurred on the Cae Bach Aur estate in Bodffordd, Anglesey, on Saturday afternoon. Eyewitnesses reported that the plane appeared to lose power before hitting a tree. The pilot, who was the only person on board, was taken to hospital by air ambulance. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening.
A light aircraft is a small plane that can only carry a small number of passengers. Arwel Jones, a resident of the estate, heard the aircraft’s engine “cut out” and immediately called emergency services. He described how the plane was flying low and eventually crashed into a tree in a neighbor’s garden. Mr. Jones expressed his relief that no one was hurt and said that it was unusual to see a plane come down in someone’s garden.
Another witness, Rees Roberts, was working in a nearby field at the time of the crash. He noticed the plane flying lower than usual and then suddenly saw it fall like a brick when the engine cut off completely. Mr. Roberts rushed to the scene and discovered that the plane had landed in Cypress trees, which helped to break its fall.
